Yoga for the Mind: What choices have you made?

Did you choose to be calm often?

Lockdown Holiday Program

Today I choose to be calm.  Unknown

How was your experience with the lockdown so far? What choices have you made? Did you choose to be calm often? Do you enjoy your slower pace during lockdown? Has your perception changed? Has the quality of your life changed? Maybe even for the better? if so, can you admit it has? Or are you staring incessantly at the things you think you miss out on?
How do we create a new quality of life for ourselves in the current circumstances? It all starts with making a conscious choice to calm down - a choice to be calm.

What does it mean to make this choice? 'Today I choose to be calm' can make you open to perceive things differently, to see the good things in this lockdown situation and to start enjoying it - if you are not already doing so...

'Today I choose to be calm' can help you start to experiment with what you have - instead of wanting things which are out of reach at present - and maybe experiencing the satisfaction, it can bring when we make it work for ourselves with what is available here & now.

'Today I choose to be calm' can free you up from the obsession to complain, demand and wanting things to be different from what they are at the moment. It is such a freeing feeling to accept what is and relax into that acceptance.

And surprise, surprise - when we choose to be calm we may be gifted with so many exciting inspirations and new opportunities to explore, which possibly could not have reached us when our monkey minds are just jumping around all the time and leave no room for inspiration to enter.

Life is happening in its own time as all of life does. Always - no exception. Coronavirus offers a splendid example for this.

'Today I choose to be calm' is a way into imagination, your own personal mind movie and opportunity to imagine your perfect future. You just have to make sure to create a purely positive picture and focus solely on enriching your creation in the best possible way every time you enter your inner visualization cinema. No inner starring at obstacles!
What you do in your inner world will manifest later in your outer world - so be careful what you allow yourself to think up.

'Today I choose to be calm' is a way to discipline your mind and prepare the ground for thinking up a bright future for yourself, freeing yourself from negativity, replacing any negative thoughts every time you catch them with positive ones. Easy! And there will be huge rewards in doing so - not maybe straight away because it needs some practice and also the acceptance that this new-found cooperation with life is not happening on your terms - it is happening in its own time as all of life does. Always - no exception. Coronavirus offers a splendid example for this. During more normal times it might not always be so obvious, but if you choose to be calm - no matter what - it will become more evident in any given situation.
Choose to be free to be calm! Enjoy & relax!

Please take 10 deep, slow, long, smooth and even breath - and say to yourself "I choose to be calm now".
