.Our holistic Yoga Theme Classes are like a mini retreat in your week! The 2-hour sessions include a good warm-up at the start (15 mins), the 'Yoga for the Mind' sequence (15 mins), Yoga practice (about 1 hour), a deep guided relaxation (10 mins) afterwards, and a guided meditation to finish it off beautifully (15 mins).

This saying is one of my all-time favourites for three reasons: because I have found it to be true due to my own experience, because it is a first class tool and reminder for daily life application in the form of self-check in and for a quick trust check for other's behaviours, and because there is so much clarity and wisdom in this one short sentence. It doesn't get more succinct, I believe.

Of course, we know what we ourselves are thinking and the self-check in is a brilliant tool for holding ourselves accountable and becoming aware when things get out of line. We feel it anyway when this happens, then some self-honesty is required to become self-aware about what might need some self-correction. If we can truly see the inner logic and wisdom of Mahatma Gandhi's statement and therefore can also see the need of bringing our thinking, saying and doing into alignment, it can become a powerful foundation for our path to happiness in harmony.

On the other hand, we obviously usually cannot know what other people are thinking, so it leaves us with the option on checking the concordance of someone's words and deeds. This is still very powerful. It is such a simple and effective way of getting to know someone. The problems that can arise from this are then again of our own making when we start to excuse others for incongruent behaviour or try to fix things in our own minds to make things match to what we wish to see. Maya Angelou warns us to do any of this because it is a dangerous way of deceiving ourselves, she said: "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time."
