In Truth, it matters less what we do in practice than how we do it and why we do it. The same posture, the same sequence, the same meditation with a different intention takes on an entirely new meaning and will have entirely different outcomes.

Or as Dr Wayne Dyer put it short and sweet: "Our intention creates our reality." And I invite you to choose an intention for this week's practice: What is your intention for why you do what you do and how you practice? Maybe something comes to mind spontaneously, maybe your body knows why, maybe it is about creating balance in some way? Let yourself be inspired by what we have covered so far this term: Creating balance versus finding balance, listening to your body, noticing how your body listens to you, balancing effort with ease, meditating on the unlimited, balancing opposites, balancing space, balancing foods, or balancing movements. Look within for some moments and listen to what comes up for you and accept whatever it is that wants you to notice it... Then form your intention for this evening's practice.
Lisa Petersen, who explains the 'Seven Moving Principles' by Donna Farhi on her website, describes how she is moved by finding the balance between being and doing, movement and stillness, strength and fluidity, discipline and freedom. (living-yoga.ie)
Dee Gold describes the Seven Moving Principles as innate patterns of movement that allow us to move with ease and power. She explains that the patterns (of the Seven Moving Principles) are designed to create the most efficient pathways for movement and expression, and once you have discovered how to engage their support you will be able to figure out the alignment (and balance) of any posture by yourself.

The Seven Moving Principles are
  1. Breathe – Let the breath move you.
  2. Yield – Yield to the earth’s weight and levity.
  3. Radiate – Move from the inside out.
  4. Center – Maintain the integrity of the spine.
  5. Support – Establish foundations of support.
  6. Align – Create clear lines of force.
  7. Engage – Engage the whole body.

Please note that the start time for March & April is 7.30 am!

UPDATE:

This SUNDAY looks doable - it looks fine on the forecast but the same conditions continue as we've had them now for about 2 weeks (last Sunday was a great exception!) and when there is rain during the night before our planned morning it might still be too wet on the deck in the morning plus temperatures are not exactly enticing BUT we will give it a go & if it is too wet on the deck in the morning we might have to go for a coffee instead... 😊👍🏼 (don't expect to see my signs out - I don't advertise publicly that way when it is too unpredictable...)
...and I am still hoping for a bit of golden autumn with warmer weather to come, maybe in April, we've had beautiful mornings in earlier seasons around Easter... 🤞🏼

* you want to utilize some of the time you spend on chairs each day to do something good for yourself at the same time and learn the moves how to weave in some fitness while on your chair anyway, or
