There can be only one aim - to AWAKE - and it can only come when you realise that you are asleep.

How can we realise that we are asleep? Of course, this is not about waking up from normal physical sleep as you might have already guessed. It is about awakening from a dull state of consciousness into an awakened state of higher consciousness. The problem is that when we live our lives in a dull state of consciousness, we usually are not aware that this is the case. We just live our lives on autopilot most of the time and don't realise that what we deem to be the reality of our lives is one huge big illusion. We then usually also do not reflect on the WHY of what is, investigate other options of looking at things, or practice self-inquiry. The latter is crucial. Without proper self-inquiry we will never get to know who we truly are. The essential question of 'Who am I?' doesn't even get asked beyond the usual conditioned limitations of all the factors that our passport and other documents tell us about who we are and that we normally use to prove our identity to others.
."The Self cannot be found in books. You have to find it out for yourself, in yourself." as Ramana Maharshi famously said. So far this has been a relatively exclusive experience for spiritual seekers of all cultures and all ages again and again over thousands of years. Today we have arrived at a point in time in which humankind has become so threatening to itself and the rest of the planet that Awakening has become urgent for all of us. Eckhart Tolle states: "The Awakening of Consciousness is the next evolutionary step for mankind."

The next New Beginners EVENING Course is starting on FRIDAY, July 21 at 7 pm, MPCC, 3 McCormacks Bay Rd, Mt Pleasant, Christchurch NZ
Here is an exciting new 9-week course for you offering a holistic Yoga experience! This includes all basics you need to know about body, mind, and spirit, introducing you to 'The 8 Limbs of Yoga' and how this might be relevant for you personally.
We will be going slow and gentle, warming up properly, learning about Mantras, Mudras, and the Yogic path to freedom and self-realisation, then building foundations for our physical practice, giving you time, space, and individual attention for the best learning experience possible. You will get to know 26 different Yoga poses (Asanas) over the 9 weeks of the course.
At the end of each session, you will enjoy a long deep guided relaxation.

CHAIR Yoga for Everybody - 'Chair-ish' your chairs...
This is for you...
* if you are new to Yoga, then this is a great and gentle way to start, or
* you want to utilize some of the time you spend on chairs each day to do something good for yourself at the same time and learn the moves how to weave in some fitness while on your chair anyway, or
* you might feel limited in your mobility for some reason and wish to explore a gentle way to invite some expansion to your range of movement
Whatever the reasons may be, learning to 'chair-ish' the time we spend on our chairs is extremely beneficial for our well-being and well-feeling.
There is so much more we can utilize our chairs for than just sitting on them!
