Here is an exciting new 9-week course for you offering a holistic Yoga experience! This includes all basics you need to know about body, mind, and spirit, introducing you to 'The 8 Limbs of Yoga' and how this might be relevant for you personally.

We will be going slow and gentle, warming up properly, building the foundations first, giving you time, space, and individual attention for the best learning experience possible. You will get to know 26 different Yoga poses (Asanas) over the 9 weeks of the course.

At the end of each session, you will enjoy a  long deep guided relaxation.

* if you are new to Yoga, then this is a great and gentle way to start, or

* you want to utilize some of the time you spend on chairs each day to do something good for yourself at the same time and learn the moves how to weave in some fitness while on your chair anyway, or

* you might feel limited in your mobility for some reason and wish to explore a gentle way to invite some expansion to your range of movement

Whatever the reasons may be, learning to 'chair-ish' the time we spend on our chairs is extremely beneficial for our well-being and well-feeling.

Time for YOGA@beach outside on the deck of the Sumner Surf Lifesaving Club SLSC, 301 Main Road, Sumner, Christchurch, NZ looking out to the beach! So nice to do Yoga outside in that delicious fresh air greeting the sunrise with a nice and easy practice including some sun salutations as it has been done for thousands of years!

 

This event is WEATHER PERMITTING 🔆 it usually will be either Thursday or Friday morning - please check back each week for updates. We started at the beginning of November and will possibly continue until daylight savings ends on 04 April 2021.

The 5 Tibetan Rites are an ancient practice, which has been called 'The Fountain of Youth'. It is based on balancing our energy centres, the Chakras.

Learn a practice that only takes 10 to 20 minutes per day to keep your body, mind & spirit uplifted and functioning in an optimal way! We will slowly build our practice over the duration of this course and explore balancing options for each chakra - one per week starting with the Base Chakra. We are continuing to reflect on our priorities over term 2. There are still so many interesting aspects to explore! In our 'Yoga for the mind' opening sequence in our Theme Classes, we will continue to shed some light on what it means to know your priorities and how life-changing it can become when you proactively set your priorities instead of letting events, circumstances, or other people direct them... Knowing your priorities is a tool for conscious living and we will explore what this can mean for our lives now and going forward while being gentle with ourselves, nourishing us with self-compassion and Yoga practice! We will also explore 3 new breathing techniques this term.

Welcome everyone to our meditation space on Sundays at the Yoga & Qigong School of Sumner, 42 Nayland St, Sumner, Christchurch, NZ

It is free - koha (donation) appreciated.

Come and go as you please. You can sit or lie down - whatever makes you feel most comfortable and stay for just 5 minutes or as long as you like. Short guided meditations (15 mins) are available as a recording for people new to meditation. To support silent meditation we offer various beautiful sounds or music, including OM or Tibetan Bowl sounds played in the background.
