Welcome to MARMA Therapy
Marma Therapy is Ayurvedic Acupressure, or Ayurvedic energy point activation.
Marma points are vital energy points on the surface of the body and they are an important element of Ayurveda's healing power. Marma Therapy, developed in India centuries ago, has the potential to profoundly affect the body, mind and spirit and can facilitate the deepest levels of healing. Prana (Life Force Energy) is the current of energy that infuses every cell within the body. Stimulating Marma points directly taps into this reservoir of energy and promotes health. (Slightly edited quote from the description in the book 'Marma Points of Ayurveda' by Vasant Lad & Arnisha Durve, Ayurvedic Press 2008)
Marma points can also serve as a wonderful tool for one's own self-healing. Marma Therapy is for everyone who is seeking a holistic approach to health.
I have studied Marma Therapy with Dr Vasant Lad, facilitated online by The Ayurvedic Institute and AyurPrana, and am certified in Ayurvedic Marma Technique (view certificates below). Vasant Lad is respected throughout the world for his knowledge of Ayurveda. He has written 12 books on Ayurveda as well as hundreds of articles and other writings. His work has been translated into more than 20 languages. Vasant Lad was Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Pune University College of Ayurvedic Medicine for 15 years. A native of India he came to Albuquerque, USA, in 1984 as Director, principal instructor and founder of The Ayurvedic Institute.

More About MARMA Therapy
Dr Vasant Lad calls Marma Therapy: The Pathway of the Inner Pharmacy. He explains: "Marma points are not just anatomical sites on the body but centers for either health or disease to flourish. These vital energy points have many practical functions that affect the mind, body and spirit, including therapeutic applications you can use on yourself and others to relieve pain, stimulate immunity, detoxify, balance emotions, enhance awareness and more."
No specific ailment is needed for treatment but if you have one or more we can focus on this - other than that it will be deeply relaxing, stimulating your energy flow, calming your nervous system - activating your 'inner pharmacy' as Dr. Lad puts it.
The sessions are also offered free of charge to enable everyone to benefit from the wonderful health benefits of Marma Technique. If you can and are happy to contribute, a 'Koha' contribution in the way it is right for you is gratefully accepted.
Please contact me by email or text to arrange a free treatment.
Sequences to choose from
All sequences are usually worked by applying pressure to the Marma Points using different fingers - the pressure is applied for 20 to 60 seconds on each Marma Point. The Marma Point activation can also be done with a tuning fork. There is a specific tuning fork that is used for the treatments. It is tuned to the OM sound and the vibrations of the tuning fork are directly applied to each Marma point.
The private sessions start and finish with the
Opening and Closing sequences (5 to 10 mins each)
After that, there are the following sequences to choose from:
Head, Neck & Face 40 mins
Upper Chest 25 mins
Belly 30 mins
Arms 20 mins
Legs - front & back 30 mins
Back 30 mins
The Head, Face & Neck sequence is very wonderful and it has the potential to heal the whole body. A combination of Head, Face & Neck with a Back sequence is probably the most rewarding in terms of deep relaxation and a chance to bliss out a little.
In order to treat a current condition 2 to 3 sessions are recommended within a time frame of about 10 to 14 days. After the initial treatment, alternatively, you could continue with self-treatment.
Please come in comfy clothes that are not too heavy in the fabric to make it easy to find the Marma points.
Looking forward to meeting you!
